Welcome to the website of Elaine (Ellie) Thompson and her father Ian Murray West.
Please browse the site and perchance enquire about purchasing a piece of hand crafted wood. What we make is
properly known as "treen" (defined as small domestic wooden items other than furniture)
from the Old English 'treowen' meaning literally, 'from or of a tree'.
All are made to be useful from living room to kitchen: bowls for salads, fruit, soups, cereals and sauces, platters and boards to cut and carve on, serve and eat from, implements to stir and scoop in
the kitchen and sundry other items useful around the home and garden.
See the Gallery Pages for typical
examples (photographs and descriptions) of the range of work
that has been created by Ellie and Ian in their Treen Workshop.
Bespoke commissions, repair or replacement of existing woodwork or that special commemorative piece for a one-off
occasion, are of particular interest. See the
Commissions
page for details.
The Treen Workshop (Ellie and Ian) attends several regular events each month along
with local fairs and markets.
An up to date listing is shown
on the Events page.
Do feel free to come along and
chat about the items for sale or to talk about your special
commission.
